Deposit policy
A security deposit is taken at check-in and returned in full when you leave, provided the room is as you found it. What follows is the whole of it, so that nothing at check-out comes as a surprise.
The deposit

- How it is taken
- A charge, not a hold, taken in person at the front desk when you arrive. Nothing is taken when you book. Cash, debit or credit are all accepted.
- How it is returned
- Refunded in full to the same method you paid with, provided the conditions below are met. Stop at the front desk on your way out. The refund is processed there by hand and is not released automatically, so leaving the key in the room will delay it.
- Credit card refunds
- Allow five to ten business days for the refund to appear on your statement. The exact timing is set by your bank, not by us.
House rules
- Identification
- A physical piece of identification with your photograph and your address on it, or a passport. A Medicare card is not accepted, nor is digital identification, nor a photograph of a document on a phone.
- Animals
- No animals are permitted on the property at any time.
- Smoking
- All rooms are non-smoking apart from our designated smoking rooms, where cigarettes only are permitted.
- Occupancy
- Two guests per room. Queen rooms with a sofa bed and rooms with two queen beds take up to four, at $20 for each additional guest.
- Payment
- Cash, debit or credit. The room itself is charged twenty-four hours before arrival, when the free cancellation window closes, or at check-in.

When the deposit is not returned
The deposit is withheld in the following cases. Each of them costs us a room for a day or more to put right, which is the reason the list exists.
- Any smell of tobacco, cannabis or other substance in a non-smoking room
- Any smell of cannabis, cigars or other substance in a smoking room, cigarettes only are permitted
- Damage to furniture or linens, or excessive uncleanliness
- Damage to the property, or conflicts resulting in expulsion
By signing the deposit receipt at check-in, you agree to all of the terms above. The signed deposit constitutes a legally binding agreement.
Cancellation
- Ordinary bookings
- Twenty-four hours’ notice.
- Weekly stays
- Forty-eight hours’ notice.
- Monthly stays
- Seven days’ notice.
- Cancelling later
- The first night is retained. Cancel within the notice period above and nothing is charged.
